Cocaine use is supposed to be on the decline - can the same be said of Crack?
It is quite easy to undersand how the economy will have an effect on the use (by some people) of the more costly drugs. Those who use Cocaine from time to time will probably tighten their belts until things get a bit better (or will they?). But what about the Crack Addict who, generally speaking, doesn't give a stuff about the economy or anything else come to that except how to score the next rock. How addictive do you think Crack is? |

Cocaine addiction I am a drug treatment practitioner,and i think that cocaine use is anything but declining, all the research based evidence points to an ever increasing use of cocaine.For instance there has been a 50% year on year increase in people seeking help on the NHS in the UK for cocaine addiction. The problem is that many of the drug treatment services aviable are geared towards heroin, crack and alcohol use. Many cocaine users do not wish to enter rehab as its too expensive and too time consuming, they are put off by NA and CA becuase of the religious undertones,and the view that any addiction is a disease and the very public nature of the meeting etc. And government sponsored services are focussed on crime reduction, information gathering and are geared to heroin, crack and the heavier end of drug abuse that many people using cocaine do to wish to access. I think there isa need for a variety of different services that are geared towards the cocaine culture. However as regards to cocaine being on the decrease, that I think is wishful thinking. JR |

How can you tell if the one you love is the subject of cocaine addiction? How can you tell if the one you love is the subject of cocaine addiction? Is it just teen behaviour or college pressure that's making them act'strange'? It can be confusing to look at somebody and be doubtful about their behaviour. Essentially, the drugs throw you out of present time into something else that your intellect gets stuck on. Someone who is a victim of cocaine addiction can seem to be in the same room as you are doing the same stuff as you are but he is only partly there. There's frequently a type of glazed look about their eyes and they can seem to be sort of like a robot. If you scold him he believes you are silly as he's intended to sweep.

If there's some sort of combined effort going on and everybody else is working on a project together, he gets in the way and does terribly wierd things. It's simply that he suspects that everybody else is dumb or irrational and do not know what they are doing.
Because they are not doing what he'll'see' is meant to be going on, everybody else is mad. And, to be certain, you might simply begin to believe that you are losing it. The final result is that anything you give someone that is under cocaine addiction to do needs to be corrected by others and this could consume a nasty heap of time. Think how that might affect a company and its production. If you are still trying to ascertain if your beloved one is dependent to cocaine or not, these are additional things to keep an eye out for in their behaviour.
