Farnham Surrey Alcohol and Drug Addiction Centre
This addiction rehab facility is comprised of two separate locations. A residential home in the Surrey countryside provides the appropriate atmosphere during the evening and night time hours, while a separate facility offers a meeting place where appropriate treatments take place. Daily transportation is provided to and from the meeting facility.
The centre was established as a way to help addicts regain control of their lives and break the addiction cycle. They do so by offering affordable and accessible treatment services that have already proven successful for many addicts.
The basis of the methodology utilised by this rehab facility is the proven 12-step programme developed by Alcoholics Anonymous in the early 1900s. The centre's treatment philosophy is rooted in the idea that addiction is a disease whose only cure is long-term abstinence.
The treatment staff are committed to helping each individual fully overcome addiction. Clients are expected to be willing to take ownership of their pasts while also taking control of the present and the future. An emphasis on small group therapy helps make this happen.
Some addiction recovery programmes use a single approach to treat every client. Here, they believe the unique needs of every individual require a custom tailored approach. The centre develops a personal plan for every client utilising the following list of treatments:
- medical assessments
- alcohol/drug detox
- 12-step meetings
- group leisure activities
- weekend trips
- one-on-one counselling
- psychotherapy
- cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- group therapy
- art therapy
- holistic treatments.
