CAN Young People Team is the newly commissioned specialist Drug & Alcohol service for young people in Oxfordshire. The new service started on 1st October 2014 and has taken over from Addaction. CAN have been commissioned for 3 years to deliver the specialist service. CAN is a charity and has over 40 years experience working in the Drug & Alcohol field. They currently have Specialist Drug & Alcohol services for young people in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire & Oxfordshire. CAN is part of Richmond Fellowship a mental health charity. CAN Young People's Team is a free, confidential drug and alcohol service for young people under the age of 19 and their families/carers in Oxfordshire. CAN Young People's Team aim to provide information, education, advice and treatment to young people in relation to drug and alcohol use. The role of the Specialist Drug & Alcohol worker is to support young people to address their drug and alcohol misuse, reduce the harm caused by it and prevent it from becoming a greater problem as they get older. Who can access CAN Young People's team? A young person who is concerned about someone else's drug or alcohol use including parents, carers, siblings or friends A young person who is misusing drugs or alcohol A young person who would like some advice & information regarding drugs and/or alcohol.
