Key Points

  • Eating Disorder
St AnnĂªs Eating Disorders Service is part of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey NHS Mental Health Trust and provides a comprehensive eating disorders service to adults aged 18 and older who live in North Central and North East London. The service consists of an outpatient service, an inpatient 20 bedded ward for females and males and a day programme. The outpatient service is comprised of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Liaison Nurses, Dietitians and a Family Therapist. Following a new patient assessment, patients with a diagnosis of an eating disorder are offered treatment, which is time-limited and either provided in a group or individual format. The day programme has six spaces and operates from Monday _ Friday from 10:00 until 3:30. The service provides intensive input for those patients who require additional support in the community and offers a full therapeutic programme of groups and individual support. The Phoenix ward is able to be accessed nationally and provides treatment for those patients requiring admission due to severe anorexia. The team includes Nurses, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Family Therapist and a Counsellor. There is a full group programme and patients are able to be seen for individual therapy. The service has a high degree of patient and carer engagement on the ward.
